Setting Achievable Goals

Getting 12 articles published and a book draft written this year certainly sounds achievable in my mind, but it wasn't until I re-read an article on writing career planning that I realized I'd taken the politician's approach to goal-setting: I'd made myself a promise with no detailed plan of action.

Tonight I'll pull out the calendar and figure out how much time I can actually put towards writing each week. I think I can get 1-2 hours each day, but that has to include all writing-related things like marketing, researching and connecting. Is that enough time to meet both goals in the next 11 months?

The politician in me says yes.
